Damers Wins National Young Enterprise Fiver Challenge!
On Friday it was announced that the children in the Eco Club and Entrepreneur Club have won Best Group and Most Profitable Product in the National Young Enterprise Fiver Challenge in the 5 – 8 age group beating 1000 other primary schools across the country for their product, Spick ‘n’ Span. Last year they also won Best Group as well for Garden Grenades (recycled paper made into a pulp with wildflower seeds added then dried. Then you put them in the ground to grow). Again another 100% Eco Friendly product. Mr Moore said, “This is an amazing achievement by a group of 5-8 year old children who have won a National Award for the second year in a row. To have won Two National Awards this Year at the National Fiver Challenge is unbelievable and I am so proud of the children in Damers Eco Crew. All their passion, enthusiasm, hard work in planning, designing, making and selling has paid off.”
Our thanks must go to Key Multimedia, Wallis Agency, Waitrose, Poundbury Garden Centre, The Poundbury Florist, Meyers Estate Agent and Munchkins who kindly agreed to take part in a sales pitch the children gave, similar to the popular BBC programme Dragon’s Den which I am sure helped them along the way.
Damers Eco Crew will go on an all expenses day trip to London in September to pick up their awards. The children will be selling their Spick ‘n’ Span product at the Dorset Food and Arts Festival on Poundbury on Saturday 5th August.
