Special Educational Needs

Here at Damers First School we strive to nurture an inclusive community of respectful, collaborative learners who are encouraged to constantly achieve their very best. We empower all learners to make valuable contributions both locally and globally and to enjoy and benefit from a lifelong love of learning.

In supporting every learner, we aim to proactively remove any possible barriers to ensure that every child thrives, making the most of their journey throughout their time with us, academically, socially and emotionally.

Tom Bracey is the SENCO and is responsible for ensuring that the provision and adaptations for children with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) allow full participation in all the exciting opportunities we have to offer.  This may involve identifying, assessing and planning for specific needs and developing support programmes to meet those needs and break down any barriers to learning.

Mr Bracey is also the lead for our Complex Communication Needs (CCN) Base.
